L.J. ADLINGTON
After living and working in Japan, L J Adlington settled in York and now runs a company that teaches hands-on history workshops for schools, museums and heritage sites around the UK. Her first two novels were inspired by diaries from World War II, while ancient history provided the storyline for The Glittering Eye. Ruined cities and battlefields in Italy gave life to Burning Mountain... not to mention a very hot day spent climbing the volcano Vesuvius. She is currently writing a dramatic love story for teenagers, inspired by the lives of Russian female fighter pilots but set in a strange, wartorn world far away. It is called NIGHT WITCHES. She likes playing football (badly) and having adventures (frequently). L.J. Adlington's books have been shortlisted for the Manchester, Leeds and Rotherham Book Awards.
