FLEUR (F.R.) HITCHCOCK
When she was eight, Fleur wrote a story about an alien and a jelly. It was called The Alien and the Jelly. She grew up a little, studied English, and, for twenty years, sold Applied Art in the city of Bath. All that time she wrote hundreds of press releases and a few stories, but in the end motherhood won and she retreated from the Art world, only writing when the children were asleep. When her younger child was seven, she embarked on the Writing for Young People MA at Bath Spa, and after graduating with a distinction, signed up with the Viney Agency.
Between parenting and writing, Fleur works with her husband, a Toymaker, looks after other people’s gardens, and grows vegetables
She’s still working on The Alien and the Jelly but in the mean time, she was thrilled to sign a two book deal with Nosy Crow for her children’s title, Dead Letterboxes; and delighted to also accept a two-book contract from Hot Key Books for Shrunk.
LATEST BOOK: SHRUNK!
SHRUNK! follows Tom, who lives with his family next to the Bywater-by-Sea Model Village, as he discovers the ability to shrink things. He gleefully shrinks some sheep, a few boats and... the planet Jupiter. But then he loses it. With the *accidentally* miniaturised school bully shouting at him from inside his pocket, Tom has to find Jupiter and return it to
orbit before asteroids pummel the village and the earth collides with the sun.
SHRUNK! is for readers who want a lot of fun from their books - perfect for fans of Frank Cottrell Boyce and Andy Stanton.
